I am Hannah Walker, the clinical lead at Prime.
I started my career when I graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2004 with a BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy.
I then spent 10 years working in the NHS in Birmingham; at the Queen Elizabeth Hospitals,
Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. During these roles I worked with patients of all ages from a few days old up until 100 plus and patients from all backgrounds with a huge variety of medical problems and injuries.
I began working as a sports physiotherapist in 2007 and became Head Physiotherapist at Coventry Rugby in 2016, later developing that role to Head of Medical Department.
I have worked hard and been lucky enough to experience working at some of the most exciting and iconic sporting events in the world; from Hong Kong Sevens and the Commonwealth Games 2014 with Barbados Rugby Sevens, to the Paralympic Games in Rio 2016 with Paralympics GB as Wheelchair Rugby’s lead physiotherapist. I provide contractor physiotherapy services to Great Britain Boxing both in the UK and at competitions around the world.
I have worked in the private sector since 2010, in various settings including sports clinics, occupational health departments, and musculoskeletal clinics.
Outside of work, I love to get out cycling, having completed an epic 320 mile ride from London to Paris in summer 2016 raising funds for the RFU Injured Players Foundation, I am now training for my first triathlon – The Blenheim Triathlon 2018. I love spending time with Clyde, my crazy cocker spaniel!
I completed a post graduate certificate in Sports Physiotherapy at the University of Bath and am continually looking for new opportunities to develop my skills and provide the best, up to date, evidence based practice.
My approach to physiotherapy is hands on, providing manual treatment when required, backed up with exercise and rehabilitation to gain the most effective treatment and enable ongoing self management and maintenance of improvements.
I have built up strong links with local orthopaedic consultants and can provide advice and recommendations regarding onward referral if this is something you require.
